My last post was over 6 months ago. And now here we are over half way through 2024 and absolutely nothing new has happened with getting our legal rights protected/enacted. Watching the government’s ineptness is painful. Why do people continue to allow this?
Virgin Islanders continue to accept and endorse this stupidity. Every time we vote for people that want to fix your life or give you a right you are complicit in your own imprisonment. Instead, we Virgin Islanders should despise and loathe giving our rights and power away to an inept government. Don’t we have 350 years of government screwing us over? And yet we still want to have more government and more programs in our lives.
Anyway, you know what the Cannabis Board has accomplished so far this year?
1. They fired the head of the Cannabis Board Hannah Carty. Why? Because she did nothing of use during her tenure. Nothing. She collected a fat six-figure salary and government benefits. And while doing nothing as the Director of the Cannabis Board, she as also had a secret job working as a real estate agent. Nice.
2. They appointed a new Director of the Cannabis Board. Awesome. Don’t strain yourself.
Wonder if who they appointed is any better. Does anyone care? Probably not we Virgin Islanders. We do nothing but continue to vote for the same jokers. And then let those jokers create more useless positions that do nothing. All collecting fat checks and benefits.
Please remember, the law was already passed to legalize recreational use of marijuana. And yet, it is technically still illegal to possess/use marijuana because a bunch of bureaucratic buffoons can’t get there shit together.
In this upcoming election there should be at least one candidate that promises to throw them all out and do less for the people. You’d get my vote.
